Autry offers three full time health career programs and five full time advanced medical programs that are for adults only. There are also several short term courses that include opportunities to continue education and gain certifications.
Clinical Medical Assistants are multi-skilled health professionals who work primarily in ambulatory settings such as medical offices and clinics. This may include measuring patients’ vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing examination rooms, disinfecting medical instruments, drawing blood, giving injections, and administering medication. In this course the student will have theory and clinical skill objectives. To ensure that each student achieves entry-level competencies for the clinical medical assistant examination, the opportunity to participate in a work-site learning component is available to those who are eligible. The student will practice in a variety of settings as chosen by the instructor. After completion of this course, the student will be eligible to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.
Instruction includes patient records, legal and ethical issues affecting the dental profession, and the study of the head and neck anatomy, tooth identification and morphology, dental terminology, infection control and instrumentation. Chair-side procedures practiced in the classroom , lab, and at dental offices include digital and manual x-rays, impressions, study models, dental charting, suctioning, and passing instruments.
This program provides an overview of health careers while teaching basic health care skills and laboratory techniques. The combination of theory, laboratory skills and clinical observations provide optimal learning allowing students to experience the health care field first hand. High school students earn an anatomy credit. Students can choose to complete the curriculum in order to test for Long Term Care Certification (CNA).

This self-paced program combines clinicals and classroom experience covering all aspects of nursing necessary for completion of the national licensing exam for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). An LPN is trained to provide routine nursing care and is allowed to perform more complex tasks only under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician or dentist.

In this program, the student will learn the therapeutic use of medical gases, humidification, mechanical ventilation, artificial airways, chest physiotherapy and CPR. The student is taught the diagnosis, treatment and preventive care of patients with asthma, pulmonary emphysema, pulmonary edema and respiratory distress. Upon program completion, the student may test for Certified Respiratory Therapist credentials.

The surgical technology student learns to handle the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary for surgical procedure and develops an understanding of various procedures in clinical settings. Students have the opportunity for clinical experiences in the operating room, central processing, anesthesia, cardiac catheterization lab, outpatient department, endoscopy and the post anesthesia care unit.

This two-year, advanced medical certificate program trains students in using radiation to produce images of tissues, organs, bones and vessels of the body. Responsibilities include accurately positioning the patient, producing quality diagnostic images, maintaining equipment and keeping computerized records. Graduates are eligible to apply for the national credential examination to become a registered technologist in radiography, RT(R).
This program prepares students for employment in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Course instruction includes electrical controls, EPA refrigerant handling practices, refrigeration theory, gas piping practices and furnace operation.
